Mildred Hope Ramsay Weiss died when I was eleven but she left behind a book, an autobiography. Only few copies were made, the pages placed in white three ring binders with a photograph of my Millie Mom and her husband, my Papa Leo, on the cover. She was in her seventies, and I was so very young.
I read through these stories and there is a history that is part of who I am in the present, but stories that I have never lived. This work attempts to show my connections with the rich plethora of history left by my grandmother by making an old history relevant in the present and forming a new story. I combine my own photographs and old family slides along side these stories as a way to bridge two separate spaces and times. View ->
